Each player in a USBF competition must sign the USBF Competitor's Agreement.

The United States Bridge Championship is governed by the Special Conditions of Contest for the USBC. The United States Junior Bridge Championship is governed by the Special Conditions of Contest for the USJBC. In 2004 the USJBC was held as a Pairs Trials. In 2005 the USJBC was a Team competition and a Pairs Trial selected players for the Schools (under 21) championships.

The first Mixed USBC was held in 2016. There were no World Mixed Team championships for which USBF needed to choose team(s) in 2017 or 2018, so the second Mixed USBC was held in 2019. Conditions of Contest in PDF format are available for 2016, 2019, 2021, 2023, 2024.
