NOTES: Seeding point rules have changed this year: instead of having 10 times the seeding points for the previous Open USBC and 4 NABC events added to ACBL seeding points to get Open USBC seeding points, seeding points for the previous 5 Open USBCs, calculated on the same schedule as NABC KOs, and decaying at 10% per year, plus [2 times] previous Open USBC and 4 NABC events ("Open IPPs") will be added to ACBL seeding points. For the Seniors, Mixed, and Women's USBCs, seeding points for the previous Seniors, Mixed, or Women's USBCs will be added to ACBL seeding points and Open IPPs.
The 2027 USBCs will select 1 team (USA2) for each of the 2027 Bermuda Bowl (Open) and Wuhan Cup (Mixed). The 2027 Senior and Women's USBCs will each select 2 teams for the Seniors and Women's events. Dates & location for the 2027 World Bridge Team Championships are not yet known.
Each event will be held face to face unless more than 16 teams enter. If more than 16 teams enter, there will be online Round Robin or KO stages to reduce to 16 teams for face to face play, with some higher-seeded teams exempt. If needed, the Open online stage will be held on March 27 & 28, the Mixed online stage will be held on April 3 & 4. The first face to face stage of the Open and Mixed USBCs will be a 3 day Round Robin to select 8 teams for the Quarterfinal; the Quarterfinal, Semifinal, and Final will each be 2 day 120 board KO matches. The first face to face stage for the Senior USBC, and for the Beth Palmer Women's USBC if it has more than 4 teams, will be a 2 day Round Robin to select 4 or 8 teams for KO stages.
DATES: The 2027 Open USBC will start on Friday, April 9th and end on Saturday, April 17th. The 2027 Mixed USBC will start on Monday, April 19th and end on Tuesday, April 27th. The 2027 Senior USBC will start on Wednesday, April 28th and end on Friday, May 7th. The 2027 Women's USBC will start on Sunday, May 2nd if there are 3 or 4 teams entered, and on Friday, April 30th if more than 4 teams are entered.
