With only 2 teams entered, the Beth Palmer Women's USBC was a 3 day KO to choose one team to represent the USA in the World Bridge Games. The Baker team (Lynn Baker-Olivia Schireson, Jill Meyers-Kerri Sanborn, and Cecilia Dwyer Rimstedt-Sandra Rimstedt, NPC Sam Dinkin) dominated the event, defeating the Cooper team (Kitty Cooper-Lynne Feldman, Cheri Bjerkan-Rozanne Pollack, Linda Lewis-Disa Eythorsdottir) by 67 IMPs over 165 boards. This will be the first World Championship appearance for 19 year old Olivia Schireson. Baker, Meyers, and Sanborn have represented the US many times, and Cecilia Dwyer Rimstedt and Sandra Rimstedt have represented Sweden many times, first in Youth events and more recently in regular events.
