In the second match on Monday, the Das and Soukup teams sat in the same directions at both tables, so they effectively did not play the match. Their score from the first half of the match (played on Sunday) has been scored using the 8 board Victory Point scale, and each team was penalized 5 VPs for sitting in the wrong direction. The 5 VP penalty has been subtracted from the score assigned to these two teams for their match against each other, so effectively there were 10 total VPs assigned for that match.

2016 World Bridge Games Expanded
The WBF has announced that the 2016 World Bridge Games, to be held in Wroclaw, Poland from Sept. 3-17, will include National Mixed Team and National Mixed Pair events in addition to the previously scheduled Open, Women's and Senior Team and Pair events. Each country is entitled to send one team to each of the 4 team events. The Pair events are open to all, with the only restriction being that both players must be from the same country.
The USBF Board has not yet decided how to select a Mixed Team and whether to provide financial support for a Mixed Team. The Board is asking for input from USBF members, and has sent a link to a questionnaire to each USBF member to ask for your opinions. Click here to respond to the questionnaire if you did not receive the email. Thanks.
